Steering and Suspension

BD Auto Car Service Centre Cape Town are able to handle all your steering and suspension problems. We are one of the very few service centre’s equipped with a four poster lift designed specifically for this purpose.

Whilst driving your car there are many different issues that can present themselves, such as – a clunking or squeaking sound when driving over a bumpy road, uneven or rapid tyre wear, a feeling of meandering instead of a vehicle that sticks to the road ‘like glue’.

Worn steering and suspension components are some of the components that are often overlooked safety systems of your vehicle. A term commonly used in the industry (Car-thritis), where the hardwearing/moving components of your car’s suspension and steering wear out with age, and are sometimes neglected.

There is light at the end of this tunnel. If your vehicle is brought in for regular inspection at our car service company, where these inspections are done at every scheduled service, we are able to identify any problems before they become out of control. When this is neglected there is a knock on effect which could affect the wear of your tyres, thus compromising your emergency stop/swerve situation.

Our inspection consists of the following:

• Suspension bushings
• All control arms, tie rod ends and ball joints
• Shock absorbers
• Suspension arms
• Power steering leaks
• Steering racks
• Power steering pumps
• Advanced steering pumps

Only one worn shock absorber out of the four on your vehicle can be a safety hazard, even at braking distances of up to 2 metres, and this at only 50kmph.
